The Tea ☕
☕ Walmart & OpenAI Partnership
Source: TechCruch (Oct 14, 2025)
The retail giant announced that customers will soon be able to browse products, add items to their carts, and complete purchases directly within ChatGPT, no website or app required. By linking their Walmart accounts, users can access a seamless, conversational shopping experience powered by artificial intelligence.
Beyond convenience, Walmart plans to expand this capability to include third-party sellers later this fall. That means customers will soon have access to an even wider selection of products, all within the same interface. The partnership reflects Walmart’s ongoing commitment to innovation and its effort to stay ahead of digital trends that are reshaping how consumers shop online.
By teaming up with OpenAI, Walmart is not only modernizing e-commerce but also positioning itself as a leader in the AI-driven retail space, blending the power of technology with the simplicity of conversation.
☕ Google Search Gets Smarter
Source: TechCrunch (Oct 14, 2025)
Google has rolled out several new AI-powered updates for Search and Discover in October 2025:
Discover AI Summaries: Users now see AI-generated previews of trending topics they follow. These summaries cite multiple publishers and can be expanded for more details and links to original content. This aims to help users catch up quickly on news and lifestyle topics, drawing from a broad range of sources. The feature is live in the U.S., South Korea, and India.
"What's New" Sports Feed in Search: When you search for players or teams on your mobile device, a new “What’s new” button appears, opening a feed of trending updates and articles about the topic. This feature is rolling out in the U.S. over the coming weeks, making it easier to catch up on the latest sports news directly in Search.
Collapsible Ads in Search: Google has added a "Hide sponsored results" button, letting users collapse ads at the top of the search page for a less cluttered experience. Sponsored labels remain, but ads are now grouped and can be hidden above and below AI-generated Overviews—those AI-written summaries that appear at the top of search results.
AI Mode for Visual and Conversational Search: Google’s new AI Mode lets users search visually and conversationally. You can upload images or talk through what you’re looking for, and get rich visual results with links to the original content. This multimodal search approach helps turn vague ideas into actionable results, making discovery more natural and interactive.
Google is making information discovery more immediate, tailored, and user-friendly — while also acknowledging potential impacts on publisher traffic due to the increased use of summaries and AI-generated answers.
☕ OpenAI Launches Atlas Browser, Posing a Direct Challenge to Google’s Web Dominance
Source: TechCruch (Oct 21, 2025)
OpenAI has quietly rolled out a new browser called Atlas, unveiling it during a surprise livestream led by CEO Sam Altman. The event framed Atlas not just as another browsing tool, but as a reimagining of how people will interact with the web—pivoting from URL-based navigation to a conversational, chat-centric browsing model.
At the heart of the debut is a clear strategic jab at Google. Atlas’s shift toward a “multi-turn” search experience—as explained by engineering head Ben Goodger—invites users into an interactive dialogue rather than a one-page results dump. And because ChatGPT already draws an estimated 800 million users weekly, OpenAI is banking on user migration from Chrome to Atlas as a meaningful existential threat to Google’s browser foothold and its upstream ad business.
Beyond that, OpenAI’s approach gives it deep contextual access to what users are doing in the browser—raising the possibility of more personalized experiences, and hinting at advertising ambitions in the future. Though the product is still in its early stages, Atlas signals how aggressively OpenAI is positioning itself not just as a partner to the web, but as a competitor at its core.
🤖 Prompt of the Week (#POTW)
A Strategic Storytelling Prompt: Authenticity in Action
Use this prompt when you want to turn a real leadership moment into a story that builds trust, authority, and emotional connection — without sounding overly performative or self-indulgent. Ideal for Facebook, LinkedIn, or long-form newsletter intros.
You are a trusted founder who leads with clarity and transparency. Write a first-person story where I: - Open with a moment where I almost compromised my values, tone, or identity for speed, scale, or external perception.- Admit to the emotional tension behind that moment (pressure, doubt, temptation, or fear).- Explain the exact pivot point where I chose alignment over convenience — and why.- Share the practical leadership lesson or operating principle it solidified for me.- Close with an empowering takeaway that challenges the reader to act or reflect.
Write it in a grounded, humanized voice — no clichés, no motivational fluff, no comparative clauses, no language that sounds AI-generated. The tone should be calm, intelligent, and precise — like a founder passing down a framing, not broadcasting a performance.

This Week’s Challenge: Can You Catch Yourself Before You Compromise Your Voice?
This week, instead of generating content, we’re asking you to audit yourself in real time. Because authenticity isn’t lost in big decisions — it slips away in micro-moments.
Your Challenge: The “Voice Integrity Audit”
Before you hit publish on your next piece of content — pause for 30 seconds and ask yourself:
“Is this how I would say it — or am I subtly shaping it for algorithms, approval, or professionalism?”
Then do one of the following:
Screenshot the before and after if you reworded it back into your real voice.
Or write 1–2 lines about a moment recently when you almost compromised your tone, values, or creative edge — but didn’t
Reply to this email or tag me with the subject line: “Voice Integrity Moment”
I’ll feature 1–2 next week.
Catch you next Wednesday,
